4-28-11 - Stood up by herself for a few seconds

Can she try to grow up any faster?  She's just started to pull up back at the end of last month and today she is letting go and actually briefly balancing!!  Crazy baby!  She is scaring me to death, because I know she isn't quite ready to let go, but she doesn't know that!

Someone posted this as their status earlier - I have found it to be true in my own life. "Family isn't always blood. It's the people in your life who want you in theirs; the ones who accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile, and who love you no matter what." I am so thankful for the few friends that I have who have become like family to me/us.

4-21-11 - Says "Ma-Ma" and seems to know what it means!

My baby made my night tonight! I was working in Andy's office for him and after church tonight he brought her in from the nursery. When she saw me she said, "ma-ma!" just as clear as a bell! It was the first tine that I really a thought she may have made he connection of me being mama instead of just making sounds. It may have just been coincidence, but regardless it thrilled me!

04-24-11 - Easter pics by Donna Granberry

Today was Anna Claire's first Easter!  What a blessed day!  In the future I want to make it very special, with a big meal and making the Easter Story Cookies and all, but since she doesn't know any different, today we just chilled.  The Granberry's invited us over for lunch along with the new Minister of Music, Kevin Brannon, and his family.  (Today was his first Sunday.)  To top off a GREAT meal, Donna asked if she could take some pictures of Anna Claire in her finery.  They turned out BEAUTIFUL!!

4-18-11 - Email from Nana

Got this email from Mom this morning - sums up our nice weekend together:

"Hope ya'll slept well. I really do miss you two. Playing with her this weekend was WONDERFUL! Her squeals on the bed and with the ball. Her crawling to me Sunday... Her liitle grins over the bed rails. She is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your kid is a darling, precious, wonderful and rotten!!! :)


We love her dearly. Wouldn't change anything."

4-15-11 - Easter pics with Wendy Jones

How fun!  Anna Claire had her pictures taken with a real live bunny - they were so cute!  She wasn't scared of them at all - in fact, she tried to "pet" him by bopping him on the head repeatedly - until we moved him away, that is!

4-11-11 - First time swimming

Today it got up to 93 degrees, so Andy *thought* (incorrectly) that the pool would be warm.  Well, the shallow end was, but not the whole pool!  It was nice enough to take Anna Claire out for a quick swim though!  It was an instant hit!  Andy did jump in afterwards with her, but he didn't stay long!!

04-09-11 - Pulling up! / Playing with pot

My girl is officially pulling herself up!  Today she used the hearth to get up on her feet!!

We also played with a pot and a spoon with Daddy!  Noisy baby and Daddy!

04-08-11 - Silly morning baby!

My baby is so sweet and happy in the morning.  Usually Andy will get her when she wakes up and bring her to me.  After she eats, then she's ready to play!!  She goes all over our bed -rolling and playing!

This isn't the best picture (we took a much better one two pics before this!) but isn't it crazy how our eye color matches!?  I'm not sure whose eye SHAPE she has, but the color is definitely mine (and my Dad's)!

4-7-11 - Ra-ra-ra-ra!

Anna Claire has learned to say "Ra-ra-ra-ra!!"  Andy will say it to her, like he is growling at her, which she thinks is hilarious!  Then she will repeat it back, and it's SOOO cute!

She's also just now learned to clap!  Not much sound, but she's making consistent contact, so I'm impressed!

Tonight was date night - sometimes it's not much of a "date", but more of an "errand night"....but that's okay.  We had to go get ceiling fans for our soon to be completed porch!  An expense we didn't really need right now, but considering Mickey is going to run the electricity and install them for us, then we had to kind of get them now!  I'm look forward to so many things about the porch.....coloring on the table on pretty days, eating outside after swimming in the pool, swinging on a porch swing, watching the sunset (it sets on that side of the house), sitting outside and watching thunderstorms together.  What a great, great blessing it will be!

04-03-11 - Sailor dress

Kim bought Anna Claire the cutest Sailor Dress - she wore it today for the first time - check her out!

 Evidently being a baby model is hard work because she crashed after church! (Look at those beautiful legs!)

04-02-11 - Wrinkles her nose

Anna Claire has the funniest expressions!  She's such a hit everywhere she goes with her sweet and pleasant disposition!  We went to a College and Career fellowship tonight and she did great.  Lately she's been taking to wrinkling her nose when she's feeling extra mischievious!

Oh, and she tried ice cream for the first time tonight - LOVED IT is not strong enough!

04-01-11 - Pulled up to knees

Today Anna Claire pulled herself up to her knees in her crib.....won't be long before we have to lower it! :)
