9-22-11 - Shower time!

There is ALWAYS something new to report around the Hunter Household these days!!  And I know that if I don't write it down, then it will slip my mind and into the ether of forgetfulness!!

Monday morning as Andy was showering, Anna Claire woke up and I brought her into the bathroom so that I could put on makeup. He stuck his head out to say hello and she just waltzed right in!!  I didn't really think she would do it - but she did!  She walked in and just sat down!  So, that was the first morning shower with Dad this week.

We thought it was a one time thing.

Apparently we were wrong.  This morning, he was showering and she woke up just in time to realize it.  She drank only a bit of her bottle then walked by herself all the way to the back of the house, straight to the bathroom, without a pause, and walked right up to the shower door.  He realized she was there, and again stuck his head out.   She walked straight in AGAIN!!  I bet she played and babbled in the shower for thirty minutes and was still content when he had to get out to go to work.  :)

9-20-11 - cranky baby=new teeth!

Working on two more top teeth!  Noticed them this morning when I changed her diaper.  They look like they are way farther back than the next teeth should be, but what do I know? This IS my first rodeo!!

9-14-11 - Distraction at church - but so cute!

I had Anna Claire upstairs visiting with the youth before service started tonight.  I was going to let her enjoy the music (she does SO enjoy the music!) but unfortunately as Andy started trying to pray and open up the service, she saunters right up the aisle - stops two feet ahead of him and grins at him and in her loud whisper voice says, "hey!"  Of course the kids thought it was a hoot.  That killed the serious atmosphere!  So, I had to go ahead and take to the nursery and let her visit later!  She LOVES her Daddy!!  And you know, the teenagers really love her - lots of them want to hold her and play with her.  She has her favorites, and her not-so-favs, but it's cute to watch her interact with them....and vice versa!

09-07-11 - Wed. night church with Ms. Gail

I'm so glad to know I have nursery workers that care about my child and work hard to see that she is happy and well taken care of.

Ms. Gail is the best!

9-6-11 - Playing together during bathtime

Today was a fun bath day!  We played peekaboo in the tub!

And then we played in front of the mirror afterwards! (She's learning to be a little monkey and mimic everything!)

9-2-11 - MMR worries and baby dolls

Man, I have really had a difficult time with Anna Claire getting her MMR vaccine! To everyone around me I know it sounds ridiculous, but I've read just enough to freak myself out royally! I didn't plan for her to get it, but due to a misunderstanding between me and Andy, she ended up getting it after all.

I've really had to tall the thing through with myself: "does God know all things? Does everything that happens to me happen under his watchful eye and allowed by Him? Have I asked Him to care for her and protect me from harm related to this vaccine? (yes.) Do I trust Him to hear me, care, be capable of responding and respond on my behalf? I've reminded myself of the verse that says that if our children ask for bread are we going to give them a snake? How much more does God give good gifts! Also, Matt 6:27,34 and Phil 4:6-7!!

This is a good learning experience for me, but not pleasurable. I probably won't feel completely at peace for another couple of weeks, honestly, but I look forward to being peaceful again on this issue. And I'm pretty certain that any subsequent children won't be getting this vaccine until they are older!

On a happier note, Anna Claire is learning to interact with toys and actually "play" with us.  Of course, it's very basic at this point, but still so much fun!  She's learned to "love the baby" - where I'll hold the baby and pat it's back and then she will mimic me.  She likes that this particular baby makes a crying noise when you press its tummy too!  So sweet!
