Swimming with Daddy - it was on a whim and still VERYYYYY cold, so she had no swimsuit on - she LOVED it though!

Our church family is so sweet to Anna Claire - from the senior adults, to the teenagers, to the nursery workers, and even the youth - she gets so much love from them all!

AC is growing so fast---learning so much and developing so much personality. She's such a little person now instead of a baby. I am determined not to be melancholy about what I've "lost" so-to-speak of babyhood, and to revel in the person she is today and enjoy her just as she is! She is such a precious gift to me!

Went to the ballfield again tonight.  She decided to hang out with Luke Joyner again.  He is so much calmer than she is when we go to the ballfield - she has to visit with EVERYONE.  He sits mildly on his blanket and watches the game!  The difference in personality is hilarious!  My social butterfly!

Tried an orange for the first time at the College/Career get-together at Stacey Coates' family home in Bonifay.  She liked it, but didn't like the pulp, so she kept wanting to suck out the juice and leave the rest - yuck! ;)

Been saying "uh oh" for a while. Also said "three" and "two" randomly when Andy would count for her to slide at the playground. Yesterday she called Brobee "brobo" which was a big deal to me--and she only would only do it a couple of times--stinker!!!

Last night she stayed with the Masseys while we went to see a couple of youth in their school production of Beauty and the Beast--when we pick her up she does her cute little excited laugh and then looks at Cathy and says "bye!!" like, "I'm ready to go home now!"

Look how Anna Claire "bosses" Joey around!

Today Andy had a funeral to go to, so we played outside in the tall grass next to the funeral home.  Beautiful day!

Andy said today, mimicking Anna Claire's thoughts: "Mama, I'll survive on a diet of peanut butter crackers, Cheetos, ketchup and juju please."

Daddy has her nailed!!

4-8-12 - Easter 2012

Easter 2012 - isn't she a doll!  We didn't get a family pic. :(

Look how happy she is to see Daddy pulling up!!  She had to get to him as quickly as possible!

Last night gave ac her first "own" milkshake---chocolate, which she LOVED! In fact, after she had drank a good bit, Andy took it for just a sec to stir back in the whipped cream, and boy did she get mad!! I thought we were about to see our first true two year old temper tantrum!!!

She had a good time at the egg hunt but she fell asleep before the egg drop started.....

Daddy played with the band.

When she woke up, she decided that it would be pretty cool to ride in Annalee Hunter's wagon - poor Cole Raley!!

Then we came home and she played on the steps in the pool even though the water was only 78 degrees! Brrr!

Saying: mama, dada, hey, bye, thank you (rarely), juju (juice), hungry (once), tickle tickle (garbled but adorable!), cookie, and today--shoe.

Ac met a fly over breakfast today! He kept flying around her highchair and she was enthralled! Grinned from ear to ear and kept trying to give him cereal! I bet she played with him for ten minutes! I got a cute video out of it!

04-04-12

Life is very sweet.  I'm so thankful that I'm able to stay home with Anna Claire.  I had a bit of a bout with worry on Monday - we got several lab bills all at once, along with a notice that our homeowners increased enough that we will have to pay $100 more a month to make up the difference.  That was a big blow.  Although I wouldn't ever tell another woman that she is sinning by working outside of the home, I feel very strongly that my calling is here - to take care of this home and this family.  But sometimes, when I let my focus waver from trusting God I can easily get bogged down by the practical realities of being broke.  :)

That being said, I do also know that Anna Claire will be able to pick up on and sense (and eventually mimic) how I respond to stressors.  Do I trust?  Do I pine?  Do I worry?  Do I attempt to control all things myself?  I don't want to instill bad habits in her little, moldable heart.  Sooooo.....I confessed my worry as sin (which it is) and am attempting to walk with peace.  It's not like we feel the strain yet, so there's no reason to react to it!

On other news, Stinker got into poison ivy yesterday - ugh!  Got some benadryl into her system and a bit of cortisone and she is much, much better today.  I've never had it (and am glad NOT to have!) so I wasn't sure how to recognize it OR treat it!  Thankfully Alfie Chilton was cutting our grass just as she woke up and I saw the rash - he, of course, recognized it at once! ;)  I am just super thankful that I gave her bath Monday night - otherwise, who knows how bad it might have been.....thank the Lord for small blessings!

Anna Claire thoroughly enjoys the big girls at church, who love to dote on her!

Anna Claire loves being outside now that the weather is warming up.  She enjoyed looking at the rosebush today, although she wasn't a big fan of the thorns!
