Anna Claire has said so many funny things lately! Here's a taster: next month we are going up to Helen, Georgia for a couple of days while we attend a friend's wedding in nearby Dahlonega, Georgia. Anna Claire asked her Daddy, "Why are we going to hell in Georgia?"

Another funny thing she said; we were working on the computer learning about it and working on her computer skills along with her spelling words. She was playing a spelling game of hangman. The computer would give her a clue and prompt her to pick one of her spelling words for the answer. The question clue was a synonym for"gives off a scent or odor" and the answer was supposed to be the word SMELL. She wasn't getting it, so I acted like I smelled something bad and then I pointed to my ears and said, "What do I do with my ears when something stinks?" She says, "Nothing - we hear with our ears!"

So I said, "What about my eyes if something stinks?"

She says, "We just see with eyes."

So I said, "Well, do I LICK something that stinks? What about my tongue??"

And she said, "Mom - You know!!"

So I thought that I would have hit a homerun, and I said, "So, what about your NOSE? What do you do with your NOSE?"

She says (so matter-of-factly), "I pick it."

I almost fell on the floor.

Then I had to tell her, "BESIDES picking it, what do you do with your NOSE?????"

DUH - You SMELL with it, Silly!!!

One day last week, she came into our bedroom while me and Andy were watching television together. She smiles sweetly at us and says, "Are you marinating again?" I smiled at her but wasn't sure what she was talking about.  So I asked her, "Marinating? What do you mean?" She replied "YOU know....MARINATING -- like kissing! Since you're married, you marinate!"

I don't know what this girl has been watching on television lately, but she is a hoot! :-)

Juliana's birthday party was tonight.  She chose to have a small party at Chuck-E-Cheese, rather than a huge party at a playground.  (We needed to keep costs down.)  She had a great time!  She isn't a kid that loves everyone singing to her and being the center of attention, but she smiled sweetly and looked pleasantly shy during it!  She's come so far in such a short way with her attitude and behavior.  I am so grateful and proud!

Baby Bella is amazing!  Taking steps, BUSY ALL THE TIME, and babbling.  She is just too cute.  I love her chubby feet - I like to rub them in all their baby-cuteness!!  (Even though they are dirty now that she is getting around everywhere!!)

We went for Juliana's 5th birthday well child doctor visit today.  She got FOUR shots and a finger prick.  Poor thing.  She screamed like a banshee!  But she didn't kick and the nurse actually said she reacted well compared to many children.  (That's scary!)  We took her for a rainbow sno-cone afterwards because that's what she wanted. She gained six pounds since last year and was up to 41 lbs - we finally hit 40 lbs!  Yay!!  She only gained one inch in height, but he wasn't concerned at all and said that her growth continues to be along the normal chart for her past history.   Thankful for a beautiful, healthy, smart little girl!

Anna Claire is doing great too.  Learning lots in many areas - socially, academically, etc.  Seems like there is so much for them to learn at this age.  I love her so much.  It's hard to teach her at times, but seeing her tender heart and love for others makes me so proud.  She loves anything artistic still - sometimes it's a challenge to keep enough projects on hand to satisfy her!  We are going to try to make a paper mache pinata for our co-op class on Mexico in two weeks.

Eliza is stinking rotten.  Cutest thing ever!  She's got a smile that just lights up the room and she is certainly personality PLUS!!  She LOVES to pose and take pictures - always saying, "let me see my picture!" when she's done!  Cracks me up!  She and Juliana are really turning into best friends.  I see them playing together even when other kids are around - they just prefer each other's company, and I am so happy to see that friendship developing.  Sometimes it seems like Anna Claire is left out, but I think it's mostly by choice.  She doesn't really want to play with toys much anymore - she is mainly into video games and arts/crafts.  She does like to swim and play outside when it isn't too hot, but she's kind of done with toys..... (::sniff, sniff::)

Andy fell on his bicycle today on the mountain bike trail.  He was trying to ride on this "wall" thing they have.  He did it successfully the other day, but didn't have enough momentum today and took a really bad tumble.  He's hurting very badly and his shoulder is useless at the moment.  Hoping (and praying!) that a good night's sleep will improve his condition greatly!
